I am now using RG6 (about 2 meters) to connect my own built antenna (embedded along the window), the range is 400m (700m with FMBA1)
I am considering about improving the range, and I'd like to use RG58+BNC instead (the socket can be installed on FM100B without modification of housing)
more suggestion?

Hi Matt: I did that very thing with very good results. I have an essential distrust of F connectors. I built my own antenna and wanted to use BNC's, hence the mod. I recommend it.
