How about ramsey getting together with other manufacturers and pushing for expansion on the AM band. Make the expansion for License Free LPAM and Carrier Current Broadcasting Only. Say maybe 1750-1800 for Radiating Through the air at maybe 5w max and no linmits on antennas. And 500-540 for Carrier Current Only with 50w power limit and be allowed to inject the signal into the neutral side of AC. and make manufacturers put the expanded band into new radios. This would Open up new avenues for towns and cities to have a community voice also this band should be for individuals only who either live where the TX is Located or within the same town as location of TX. also it should be allowed to be either commercial or non commercial and people who own another media outlet whether it be Newspaper, Radio, or TV, should not be allowed to run a LPAM part 15 station. Thoughts anybody? Feel Free to add, change, etc. Maybe if it does need to be licensed the licensing should be something simple similar to Amateur Radio.

theres a few discussions about a new community b'cast band in some other online forums. i say we try to get the 25-26mhz band for this type of purpose. with the skip bringing in stations from around the country and sometimes world, it would allow for greater proliferation of culture if we do this right. there would have to be a lot of coordination on the broadcasters part tho so we dont have too many competing signals, but thats a small price to pay for broadcasting to another part of the country and to your own community. to start, it would be a good idea to use readily available modified cb equipment and have techs look over the setup to insure that the harmonics are in check and its running clean. not only would these magic boxes have the ability to transmit, but one could also listen to other shows also
