Hello all,
So here's what I got. Please tell me if I am just losing my mind. My TT7 works great. I get 5v till I send the tone. It grounds to 0V, and after I release, back to 5v.
My ST1 is giving me the issue. I want a digital latch as per page 12 in the TT7 manual. So I follow those directions. So my connectors should be:
+ = 5V
- = Ground
My input from the TT7 (pin "0") 5.1V = to the D2 connection point closest to C4 on the ST1 board.
Everything above I believe is correct. What I need to know is what my output should be? Should it be the inverted of the input from the TT7? It is not and not changing also.
I want the output of the ST1 to be 0V till I send the tone then have it rise to 5V; then send another tone for it to go back to 0V.
Please help and thank you for your time. See attached picture.

OK... now that I understand that you have a TT7 and TS1, not an ST1, maybe I can help you. It does sound like the TT7 is functioning properly. However you say that you are connecting the decoded output to the TS1 a the input of U1C. Not sure why you connected it there since the input should be simply tot he "INPUT A" terminal on the TS1. Also note that you should have a jumper between points A and C and you will need a pull-up resistor to a + voltage, or a load connected to + voltage, and "OUTPUT A" of the TS1.
If you have any further questions you can always give us a call directly, 585-924-4560, and talk to our tech support department. We may not see your powt here for a while since we don't monitor it on a constant basis. Talking directly to us will usually get you going in a few minutes as opposed to waiting for us to repond, ask you questions and wait for you to get back to us.

Another thought is that it looks like your TS1 has been around for a while. It is possible there were errors in the manual you have, possibly form years ago. It is probably not well written and confusing. I just checked the manuals on our web page and the manual for the TS1 is VERRRRRRRYYYYYY old. I have made a request to our IT people to put the latest one out there ASAP. If you check there later today it should be updated by then. The way to tell is the 2nd page will contain a revision date of, It hik it was June 2010, indicated. THe old one didn't have any revision indicated. If you don't find the new one or want it sooner please give us a call and we can either email or send you a hard copy of it.

Due to excellent help from the Ramsey Electronics Tech help desk my circuit is up and running. It will end up as a "cut down" circuit for a high Attitude balloon project. My job is build the APRS tracking, Cut Down Circuit and parachute deployment.
Thanks again,

Since you are working with hot air ballons you might be interested in this link. Neal and company launched the balloon and used our UP24 pressure sensor using the pilot elevation alarm to activate an air sampling pump at a preset altitude. We provided a "custom" interface that monitored the alarm output to activate the pump. THis link has allthe information. Check it out.
