Hi,

Recently I assembled one “TV6C transmitter”. I am able to tune my TV with good picture with perfect color and contrast, but there is no sound. When I am adjusting the “Adjustable RF transformer” there is no change in sound. Can somebody help me with some suggestions?

The first thing you need to do is check ALL components for proper installation, both value and orientation if applicable. The next check is for bad or bridged solder connections. One of the best ways to do this is simply go thru and reheat all solder connections. Over 95% of problems with kits returned for repair is due to one of these problems. A problem with the audio could be caused by miss-alignemnt of L1 or a bad connection in the audio input connections, including J2, C2, R4 and R5. Check the values and connections of these components in that area on the schematic. If you still have problems I suggest contacting our tech support department directly via phone. We can usually get you going quickly.

Hi,

Thanks for your responds.I cross checked all the components those you suggested.Still no audio ?The signal format i am giving is PAL.Is this ok ?Is there any chance this L1 get spoiled due to overheat from soldering iron ? Is there any way to check L1 using multimeter ?

That is probably your problem. The TV6 audio uses a 4.5Mhz carrier which is NTSC. I don't know what PAL format uses fro thet audio but I'm guessing it is different.

The TV6 will does work with NTSC format TV. I don't know what NTSC-J signifies or if it is different than what the TV6 will transmit. A quick search for NTSC-J shows that the black and blanking levels in the video are different and the audio stereo subcarrier may be different.

Thanks for your guidance. My Ramsey TV Transmitter Kit is working. The PAL signal was the culprit. I gave NTSC and finally it’s working. :)
