Unhappy

Hello To Everyone...

I wanted to take the time tonight to tell my story of home broadcasting. I must say that I have been doing it for almost 5 years. I can no longer do it, due to family problems and such. I thought tonight before I go, I give my story..what I have used..what I did..and what came out of anything I did..Please read..if your bored....

The first transmitter I ever bought was the Ramsey FM100b 1 watt version. It was 5 years ago and I will never forget the day I ordered it..I was working at a Rent To Own place and the TX was sent to my work..during several days prior to the TX arriving..me and my co-workers were so excited..its all we talked about..the day the TX arrived we all stayed late to play with it..in the store and such. It was a great time....we thought we were really something. When I got the FM 100b 1 Watt to my home and got it in my studio..I also had the Comet high end antenna...the one with 3 dipoles and the big one in the middle..I found out after a couple of days of broadcasting...I was causing problems on my local FOX station to my neighborhood..not on cable but on AIR feed. My station was causing fuzz...Still today, I have no clue why this happened.

I sent this unit back and then went to Hobbytron and bought the UK 2 watt TX..(no longer for sale On Hobbytron) Also had a Comet Antenna...This was my pirate stent..my signal got out at least 5-6 miles. I played Techno and local DJ mixes, and on Saturday nights were live from an AfterHours club where I am from..this station aired for 3 months..no problems..non whatsoever...the best that came out of this station...It was awesome to go to clubbers homes and they all had their radios tuned to my station...the best thing that came out of this..is a local club had me, as the station headliner for a concert of "Gillette", she's the one who had the 90's big hit.."Don't Want No Short Man" It was great...I had a sit down interview with her before the show...was allowed recording during rehearsel...brought her to stage..then after the show..we went to get something to eat..we went to a "Steak N ShEak" and there was Gillette and me eating....it was awesome...she trusted me to get her back to her Hotel, than the club owners....this was for sure my Best Of Best..in home Broadcasting....The downfall of all of this..was becoming scared that the station was getting to big...Every time I was on, I was looking out my window...Going to work and leaving a 2 watt system ran by PC only...unmaned...never a letter..never nothing...just thought I was getting big for my studio...

I sold the station to get me into the home I am in now...since the 2 watt system..I thought I would tone it down a bit..and I bought a Gizmo 100mw TX. I must say this TX baffles me still today....the best thoughts of this TX is me and a friend down the street...throwing a 100ft wire into a tree...we had a ground to a water pipe and did everything the net told us do...I will never forget this friend & I had a Van parked in my back yard..we were standing on top of the Van as we were trying to throw a 60ft wire into the trees..no matter what we did...range was no where...it did not go no where......Gizmo was a peice of trash..

After this I got the RamseyFM25b..with this unit I was very Happy..I had a dipole 40ft off the ground..and could pick up the signal great 1 mile...it was great to sit in a Wal-Mart parking lot and hear my station. What I got with this..I got alot of Hiss..and the sound of sttt..stttt..anything with st...sounded like bad noise...In my studio...I had cut all the high ends, and still got the bad noise..not wall wart noise....just high end noise...

I used the RamseyFM25b for about a year...and was very Happy...this unit is still on top of my list..However, my last TX I bought was the EDM100mw....before I go... I must say..this TX is the best... I am glad to wrap up my Hobby..by saying this TX made it all worth while...however,I will miss this Hobby all because of this unit...

I can longer broadcast...this is my story..to new & old worldwide...I leave you with one thing...JUST DO IT! You will have a BLAST! I would like to thank everyone for their help and their input...

This Is my Story...This Is My Song...

I was wondering why you liked the EDM xmitter so much??? How does it compare to the FM 100b? I would appreciate your feedback

I don't know, but I would guess because the EDM comes in a 100 mW version?

A good story there, powerup, sorry to hear about your situation... And I hope you are not confusing me with him, Hector... I'm doing okay.
