I built the Infared LED kit recently which I will use with a B&W CCD camera. I made 2 modifications to the kit. I replaced one of the IR LEDs with a yellow LED which I mounted to the back of the board, simply to be able to tell if the unit was on. The second mod involved drilling 3 small holes behind the power jack and mounting a 12 volt regulator (7812) to insure +12v. For the input to the 7812, I used the (+) center tab of the power jack (folded out from going into the board). The center ground leg I attached to the power jack via a short piece of wire. The output of the 7812 I attached to the spot where the center tab of the power plug would have been soldered to via a short piece of wire. All in all very simple and cheap to do. One note to RAMSEY: no where in the documentation of this kit do you mention the size of the power plug/jack!
I had one laying around that fit- I think it is a 5.1mm O.D.. Perhaps you could add this info to your kit.
